God’s Good News for All people

The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ saves sinners (Matthew 1:21). The gospel addresses the most serious problem that mankind has: SIN. Sin is serious because God is holy and just. He cannot tolerate sin (Habakkuk 1:13). God must punish sin (Psalm 7:11, 12). The good news is that God sent His Son (John 3:16) into the world to be punished in the place of sinners (Romans 3:25, 26). This is the reason that Jesus died. From all eternity God planned to redeem men by the death of His Son (Romans 1:1, 2). God fully accepted the death of His Son as the payment for sins and the proof of that is that Jesus was raised from the death on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4). He is alive!

The only way that this gospel can benefit you is if you will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31). It is by faith in Christ that people are saved. This faith in Jesus Christ includes repentance for one cannot want forgiveness and at the same time hang onto his sin (Luke13: 3). It is faith ALONE that saves (Romans 5:1). Works are of no value (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Isaiah 64:6). Now good works do result from true faith, but these works are the fruit of faith and have nothing to do with one being accepted by God (Ephesians 2:10).

The benefits of the gospel are astounding! The sinner is forgiven (Ephesians 1:7), clothed in Christ’s righteousness, which He earned by His perfect life, (2 Corinthians 5:21; Isaiah 61:10), is now at peace with God (Romans 5:1), adopted into His family (Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:5; Ephesians 1:5) and the most extraordinary blessing is that now the once estranged sinner has fellowship with the living God through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:2).

All the blessings of the gospel are found only in Jesus Christ. Will you not call on the name of the Lord and be saved (Romans 10:13)?
